In Makili we have started on Monday, May 2nd, a non-formal education with primary and secondary school children, distributed throughout the week. Similar in some respects to Atambua’s “Learning with Calasanz”: we teach English, Portuguese, human and Christian values, educating through art (music, singing, drawing, theater…). For now we have a total participation of almost one hundred boys and girls.

Some of them also participate in our evening meditation and prayer.

It has taken us time to prepare it, but we are happy. From the beginning we have thought of doing it in collaboration with local facilitators: catechists, older students from the tourism school or other volunteers.

Now children and adolescents can enjoy weekly activity times together that, while being playful, help them learn in mind and heart. Piety and Letters.
